Road Trip and Liz's Wedding Pix,, a Month Later

David and I decided to drive to my sister's wedding in Idaho. Gooding is in southern Idaho where I lived for a stint of time. It's a small po-dunk town with very nice people but there's really nothing to do. I mean NOTHING save farming and gossip. So David and I decided to make a fun time of it starting with a road trip, some soak-time at a hot springs resort and a night at a historical hotel built in 1880.

We took the seven hour drive to the Hagerman Valley to stay at Miracle Hot Springs Resort. The resort offers a naturally heated pool to swim and stretch in and private rooms to soak in. We felt sooo relaxed after soaking for two hours in a private room and swimming around in the pool.

We rented a spacious "camp dome" for the night. The dome had six sleeping pads that we stacked up to make a comfortable queen-sized "mattress". The floors were heated by the natural hot springs keeping us warm all night.

The wedding was the following day at the Gooding County Fair grounds. It was beautiful. My sister looked gorgeous and her husband looked mighty dapper. A perfect match so sweet!

After the drinking and dancing was over, David and I retired to Walter Gooding's room at the Historic Gooding Hotel. He was the first mayor of Gooding. Nothing really spectacular about that. The room, I mean. It had a cute little victorian seating area and a comfortable bed with the couple peering out from oval frames above the headboard. The best part about the building is that it still has the original facade with the original veranda. The veranda held an old wooden porch swing and other old wooden furniture. It was like being in Deadwood!

There are so many pictures from the wedding, click here if you dare:
